Post My Birthday :-)

9.28.2009 5
This past Saturday (Sept. 26th) marked #? years that I've been on this God given Earth and for that I'm thankful. I spent the morning assisting a fellow MUA friend with a wedding. Yes, I worked on my birthday! I then proceeded to the MAC counter to see another MUA friend who also happens to be the Counter Manager. I stayed at the counter for at least an hour and a half. After picking out some of the products that I wanted to include items from the MAC Black Collection, I asked her to make me up for my birthday. She made me up in no time flat and at the end I can say that my face was BEAT to the makeup Gods!!! My mom took pictures, testing out my Crackberry camera and here they are.

Products Used:

Face: MAC Studio (Liquid) in NC50
Faddabulous Mineralize Blush
MSF in Dark

Brows: MAC Espresso e/s and NW 30 or 35 as the highlight

Eyes: MAC STYLE BLACK Collection e/s in Blue Flame on lid
MAC Down Brow e/s in crease
MAC e/s Deep Truth on lower lashline
MAC Smolder eye kohl on waterline

Lips: MAC Dazzleglass Creme in Soft Dazzle

Lastly, I had an impromptu outing with 3 of my friends 2 of whom I refer to as my "Juicy Fruit Girls" (India & Leslie) and LaShanya - I'll post those pictures later. We had an enjoyable time.

I thank everyone for the birthday wishes!

Godspeed,
Tia

Beauty So Clean!

Greetings Beauties!

I first learned about Beauty So Clean (via Twitter) from Celebrity Makeup Artist & Eyebrow Specialist Elke Von Freudenberg (@elkevonf and @themodelbrow). I actually traveled to New York a few months ago to take a class taught by Elke and she's a great educator and very talented..."I fix eyebrows" is what she said to us and yes, she does! Visit her blog here.

Sanitation is very important especially when dealing with multiple people. Beauty So Clean's products sanitizes your makeup (i.e., lipsticks, concealers, foundations, pencils). They have a misting spray and wipes for those of us who are constantly on the go. I'd asked Elke about the UV Light that a few of my friends use to sanitize their eyeshadows etc. and was advised that the device is ideal for sanitizing makeup tools. Although, I still plan to purchase the UV Light, I just placed an order at Beauty So Clean for both the misting spray and the wipes. I can't stress this enough clean your brushes, clean your makeup, use disposables and don't double dip please!

As I'd expressed on BlaqVixenBeauty's Blog, one can never have too many brushes but when your supply is limited or you don't have time to clean your tools make sure you have an adequate supply of disposables on hand. Check out TheProMakeupShop.com or contact me directly and I'll put you in contact with one of my fellow MUA friends who is also a disposables distributor.

Peace, Love & Lipgloss!
Mobile Blogging!

Ok I'm testing this out to see what happens...for the 3rd time! Hopefully it works out! Testing...1,2,3!

LOTW, The Artist Summit & arTIAstry's Beauty Giveaway

Greetings Beauties!

Since I wasn't able to attend New York Fashion Week (NYFW) I stayed glued to Twitter and lived vicariously through those who did attend & although I wasn't physically present the tweets and the images were overwhelming and I'm going to make sure I there next season.

Last week I tried mobile blogging. Needless to say it didn't work because for some reason my submission to the mobile address indicated just wouldn't go through so I'll stick to the regular way until I figure things out.

First things first, who's attending The Artist Summit in Miami or Chicago? *raises hand high* I plan to venture off to Miami in the next couple of weeks and I seem to be the only one that I know going to this particular location. For those of you who aren't familiar with the event you may log onto www.theartistsummit.com for more information. This event is sponsored by The Powder Group and it's definitely one that both aspiring, pro...actually ALL beauty industry professionals would want to take advantage of if you're able to do so. The summit in Miami will take place 10/3-10/5 and the one in Chicago will take place 10/11-10/12. Discounts apply for students. Currently, there is a special where participants can take advantage of an extra workshop for $9 (14 days to register) instead of the regular price of $95.00. If you're going and plan on attending one of the many seminars and hands-on workshops ACT FAST!!! The Powder Group has also teamed up with a few airline carriers and hotels in the area to offer discounted rates to those planning to attend.

arTIAstry'S BEAUTY GIVEAWAY:

I'm doing another "arTIAstry's Beauty Giveaway" where the winner will receive a bottle of OPI's limited edition nail polish "Damone Roberts 1968". If you haven't already heard Damone Roberts Salon in New York and Beverly Hills have SOLD OUT of this polish, that let's you know it was a HIT and because it was a limited edition item they probably won't be making anymore. Now for this giveaway I'm asking you all for "ideas" and feedback.

To enter simply follow the instructions below:

Leave a comment with your name (it can be a nickname or blog name)and tell me what the word "beauty" means to you, in your own words.

The winner will be randomly selected.

All entries must be in no later than 9/30/09 so you have some time!

Last but not least I present you with a FIRST; my simple "Look of The Week" (LOTW). Since my digital camera is on the blink I took these with my "Crackberry" please excuse my bootleg images in advance. :-) I wear little to no makeup to work and this morning I opted for somewhat of a subtle smokey eye that's cool enough for the office. They already know I'm a Makeup Artist anyway, so there's no need for me to show off.

I'm GLOWING!

Face:

ME Mineral Foundation in D2 mixed w/ MAC Strobe Cream
MAC Global Glow MSF (apples of cheeks)
ME Mineral Face Glow Powder (cheeks)

Brows:

Filled in w/ MAC brow pencil in Spiked

Eyes:

MAC Smolder - smudged
MAC Zoom Lash mascara

Lips:
